CYCI #84 Sketch Challenge

I'm so excited to announce that I'm one of the 5 newest members of the Can You Case It Deisgn Team. I've been itching to spill the beans and tell you all and TODAY is the day! I'm so excited to be part of this weekly challenge blog and share my creations with you all!
Make sure you say a BIG hello and welcome the other new members at Can You Case It!

So for my first challenge for the Can You Case It Design Team we have my favourite, a sketch challenge! Yay!

I'm using some more products from the Holiday Catalogue that you can get on Sept 1st! I've had a lot of fun playing with the stunning Holiday Catty goodies this month and I really can't wait for you to get your hands on them too!

I've used the Season of Cheer DSP and the Spotty Panel is from the Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack.  The DSP is has a soft look of watercolour and is all hand-painted imagery! It is just stunning! My photos just don't do it justice! You really have to see it yourself.

I'm still loving all my gold accents and they go perfectly with the DSP!
The stars look pink but they are gold! I was wearing a pink jumper when I took the photo and that has reflected onto the stars! HA!

Go and check out the rest of the CYCI Design Teams creations and enter your take on the sketch! Can't wait to see what you all create!!!

Thanks for Stopping By!

Just Add Ink #277 - Just Add a Colour Combo

This week at Just Add Ink we have a colour challenge, brought to you by Kim, using some beautiful, spring like colours! Bring on spring!  I'm so looking forward to this miserable winter being over maybe that's why I'm so eager for it to be spring!

These colours are so pretty together. Just love it!

I've used a two stamp sets that I haven't used for a long time, Everything Eleanor and Papillion Potpourri. They are both stunning sets and I don't know why I have left them for so long!

I was inspired by a card on made by one of my fellow demos Chloe Evans at Chlo's Craft Closet where she white embossed the Butterfly and coloured it in using aqua painters. I think she actually reminded me what a great set Papillion Butterfly actually is and that I should get it out more often.

I made the frame using the new Tags & Labels Framelits. I cut out the smaller size first and then lined up the larger framelit around the previously cut shape and then cut it out. Whala! A gorgeous frame!

Make sure you check out the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team and their fabulous creations! They are so good! Also come and enter your creation using these fabulous colours!

Thanks for Stopping By!

Stampin' Up! Holiday Catty Sneak Peek - Delicate Ornament Thinlits

This is one of those products that when I first saw it in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue, I had to have it. The Delicate Ornament Thinlit Dies. They are just so pretty and well, delicate. One of the best things about these dies is that they co-ordinate with a stamp set, Embellished Ornaments! YAY! And what is even better is that the stamp set and dies are one of the Bundle and save bundles in the Holiday Catalogue where you can order them together and save 15%! WOOHOO! Love that!

I've used the Delicate Ornament Dies to make a gift tag. How stunning would this tag look on a beautifully wrapped gift with some matching red ribbon and the tag attached to the top. I've stamped the Holly image from the Embellished Ornaments stamp set on Shimmery White cardstock and then using my Blender Pen I've pulled some of the colour from the edges to give the leaves a bit of colour.

Don't have Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details (I thought I had some for the Holly berries, Nope. Must put some on my next order!),  punch out Red Glimmer Paper using the handheld circle punches and stick those on.

Because these dies are so detailed and intricate I used another new product to assist me to get all those die cut pieces out. The Precision Base Plate to go with your Big Shot made cutting all those delicate details out a breeze. It was so easy. All those pieces popped out in seconds! If you love and use a lot of the detailed Thinlits, the Precision Base Plate is a must for the top of your wish list!

How beautiful is the Red Foil Sheet behind the Gold Glimmer. It's so pretty! And the Winter Wonderland embellishment. Can't go past me a bit of shimmer and bling.

Thanks so Much for Stopping By!

Just Add Ink #276 - Just Add Cards for Males

This week at Just Add Ink we have a male inspired challenge, Just Add Cards for Males brought to you by Jan. With Father's Day coming up in September (in Australia) its a perfect time to create some male cards.

Today I've used a stamp set that I've had for a such a long time and haven't used (um-ah), Lovely as A Tree. It is one of the few stamp sets that I still have in the older style plastic clamshell style case.

One thing about male cards, I find is that they look so bare or naked without all the glitter, sequins, ribbons and all the pretties.

I've stamped the tree image on the Typeset DSP and the solid striped DSP actually comes from the Timeless Elegance DSP. I really like the boldness of the 'happy' die cut out of Basic Black cardstock.

I still had to put some buttons on it and some metallic thread. Got to have that metallic thread on my cards. I can't make one without it. Ha!

Make sure you check out the amazing creations from the other Just Add Ink Ladies. They are one talented group of gals!

Can You Case It #82 - Home for Christmas

I've been itching to have a play with my new Stampin' Up! Holiday Catty goodies (you can get yours Sept 1st) and what better way than to use them in a challenge. I'm entering my card today to the Can You Case It challenge site and this week they have a sketch challenge. YAY!!! My favourite!!!! I really do love a sketch challenge.

Today I'm using the oh so wonderful Home For Christmas DSP. It's bright and absolutely beautiful and the images are all hand drawn. Doesn't it make you feel nostalgic to the images of Christmases from years ago. It's got a beautiful vintage feel.

I've cut out one of the images from the Santa DSP to 'pop up' in the square. If I knew how to do paper tole, I would have a go at layering the images. I think they would look stunning like that.

Some of the other new products I've used is the wooden Snowflake Elements and the super stunning Gold Glitter Ribbon.

I really thought that because the DSP is all quite 'busy' looking that it didn't really need much else other than a quick sentiment stamped with the Alphabet Rotary Stamp.

Thanks for Stopping by and please leave a comment as I love to hear what you think of my creations!

The Stamp Review Crew - Awesomely Artistic Edition

http://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2015/08/stamp-review-crew-awesomely-artistic.html

This week on The Stamp Review Blog Hop we are using the stamp set Awesomely Artistic. Its is a stunning set to colour, emboss, use in a collage and be really creative with. It's just beautiful!
For those hopping along for the first time, we are a group of International Stampin' Up! demonstrators and we have a blog hop of the first and third Monday of each month. Each hop showcases one stamp set and we like to show you lots of different creative ways to use it!
Remember, if you get lost on the hop click on the banner at the top of this post and this will give you the list of all the 'hoppers' in The Stamp Review Crew.

You may have joined me from fellow Aussie and most amazingly talented Jessica Williams or you may have started here with me. Either way you are in for a creative treat!

This is what is in the stamp set. It may not look like much but once you start putting some or all of the elements together you can have some beautiful creations.

What  I have done today is embossed the flower image with gold embossing powder on vellum. I've then turned the vellum over and coloured it in from the underside with  Stampin' Write Markers. This makes the colouring really easy and then you can be a bit quicker and not so 'neat' with the colouring because it doesn't matter too much if you go slightly over the line.

The 'hello' is from the Hello You Thinlits and then the 'friend' is embossed on vellum with gold embossing powder.

Here is just a closer look at the colouring. When colouring this way use a brighter colour. The vellum will give the colour a softer, muted tone and won't look so bright. If you use a soft colour you really won't be able to see it that well.

I've embossed the dragonfly image with gold embossing powder on the gold foil sheets. I really love the gold on gold look. It's just stunning.

Here are a couple of my recent creations where I have used Awesomely Artistic.

You can see this one here

And this one here

Thanks for stopping by. Next up on the hop is the very clever and super talented Shana Gaff. Be sure to leave a comment at each stop along the hop as we really love to know what you think of our creations.

Just Add Ink #275 - Just Add a Sketch

This week at Just Add Ink we have a sketch challenge brought to you by the lovely Design Team Member, Kim.

My card today contains a few sneak peeks from the upcoming Holiday Catalogue which starts on September 1st 2015! Make sure you write these products down on your wish list so you are ready to go with your order when September 1st comes around!

I did start to make my card in the vertical orientation but I wasn't happy with the placement of all my elements so I turned the sketch to the side (and flipped it around) and went from there. As I was making the card I placed the circle in the corner and the strip down the left hand side wasn't looking right at all!  So I used a banner and some ribbon and trim and I felt that looked much better. So that is my interpretation of this weeks sketch.

The two DSP patterns are from the Winter Wonderland Speciality DSP. It's beautiful glossy DSP in the colours Basic Black, Gold and Whisper White. Two of the sheets are single sided with a beautiful gold foil design. It is stunning DSP!

Another new product from the Holiday Catalogue on the Whisper White Circle is Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This embossing folder is another on that is of the larger size, 6" x 6" so you can emboss larger pieces of cardstock. Just love that!

I'm sure you've already spotted those snowflakes, Snowflake Elements! They are just stunning! They come in a pack of 24, 8 each of 3 designs. As you can see I've used 2 of the snowflake designs and layered them on top of each other. I'm so loving the wooden elements and embellishments at the moment. Love the look and texture that they give! And they are just so pretty!

The last product that I've used from the new Holiday Catalogue is the Iced Rhinestone Embellishments. They are so pretty and an easy way to 'bling' things up!

Come see what the other Just Add Ink ladies did with the sketch and come and show us your interpretation! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it!

Just Add Ink #274 - Just Add Inspiration

This week for the Just Add Ink Challenge we have an Inspiration Picture brought to you by fellow Just Add Ink Design Team Member, Trish. It's full of lots of neutral tones and wooden texture. Just beautiful!

My inspiration for my card came from the pattern in the wooden panel and the colours in the picture. I used the Stampin' Up! colours Tip Top Taupe, Very Vanilla, Basic Black and some Typeset DSP. I did think about putting Smoky Slate in there somewhere too but I already had enough going on. Sometimes less is more, isn't it?

Just looking at my striped panel I think I put the lines the wrong direction to the inspiration pic but you can see where I was going.

The wooden looking background layer comes from the DSP Color Me Irresistible. That is beautiful DSP. And I love that it is pre-embossed so that takes all the hard work out for you. You just have to put it on your card and it looks stunning. To easy!

It's all finished off with some of my all time favourite embellishments, Expressions Natural Elements, Gold Metallic Thread, Metallic Sequin Assortment and well anything with gold on it!

Come and join in the fun and show us what inspires you from the Inspiration Pic and make sure you check out all the AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Girls. Be sure to leave us a comment as we really love to hear what you think of our creations!
